Subsequent work has started at the Market Street intersection for Sydney’s new light rail network on 23 February.
To enable utility relocation work and track installation through the Market and George Street intersection, it will be temporarily closed on most weekends to general traffic until early April. Residents, businesses and hotel guests in the nearby area have access to the intersection during the closure. Special event clearways will be in place to control the flow of traffic.
The light rail track and the third rail that will power the light rail are all set, so utility and finishing work is underway around the intersection in order to regrade the road to its ultimate condition.
