Plant-filled spheres open at Amazon headquarters in Seattle

Amazon has finished a series of "cloud forest" gardens inside glass orbs for their Seattle headquarters. This green space which covers three linked glass domes can be used by employees or the public.

The project was formerly opened on January 29th 2018 and was designed by American architecture firm NBBJ. It comprises of approximately 560,000 kilograms of steel with thousands of foliage.

Amazon's vice president of global real estate and facilities John Schoettler stated that "Our goal with The Spheres was to create a unique gathering place where employees could colalborate and innovate together, and where the Seattle community could gather to experience biodiversity in the centre of the city."
