Washington H Soul Pattinson and Company's historic building at 160 Pitt St is being sold to Kingvest, a private group in a deal of approximately $100 million.
The Soul Pattinson chemist has been at Pitt Street Mall for 145 years and will now be closing up as the space will now be available for vacant possession.
In accordance with a report by Main Streets Across the World last year, Sydney's Pitt Street Mall has been identified as one of the most expensive places to rent a store globally, with rates around $12,000/sqm - $15,000/sqm per annum.
