‘Playful, geometric’ office building proposed for Darlinghurst

Freehold Capital has submitted a proposal to the City of Sydney for a six-storey office building ‘punched with a series of playful geometric openings’ in Darlinghurst designed by SJB Architects.

The mixed-use building would house five storeys of commercial tenancies, a ground-level retail space, a rooftop terrace and basement parking.

While the development application would require the demolition of existing buildings at the proposed site on 251-255 Crown Street, the adjacent building at 249 Crown Street - currently occupied by The Balkan restaurant - would be preserved due to its contribution to “the site narrative.”
