Singapore-based investment group SC Capital has revealed the winning design for a new skyscraper development with mixed-use office and hotel within Sydney’s prime financial precinct.
The design firm who won the architectural competition was Woods Bagot with its 226-metre- tall luxury hotel and office tower plans. The 55 level skyscraper is located at 4-6 Bligh Street and is scheduled to be completed in 2022.
Suchad Chiaranussati, SC Capital’s chairman, says that the tower is the first luxury hotel in Sydney's financial precinct in 20 years.
“Sydney is Australia’s number one tourist destination and commercial capital; however, hotels are generally dated and well below expectations by global gateway city standards,” Chiaranussati said.
The tower will feature a clubhouse with a pool and wellness centre, and co-working facilities within the nine-level commercial office podium. The rest above this level will have hotel rooms and suites, finishing with the public sky living room and reception located at the fifteenth floor.
