Lendlease’s second timber tower situated in Barangaroo’s South commercial precinct reaches peak. The building has spanned a seven-month construction timeline and has been built from around 1,750 pieces of timber.
Located at 1 Sussex Street, the timber building designed by architect Alec Tzannes was approved in July last year. It sits next to International House Sydney, Australia’s first commercial timber building.
The building was named as Daramu House, meaning “tree” house in the Aboriginal language of Sydney district. WeWork leased the property and will occupy all six floors of office space.
Lendlease executive general manager Leanne Boyle described Daramu House as the last piece of the puzzle for the commercial precinct that will comprise commercial, residential, public and open space.
